Tonight: Arum Rae at Caffe Vivaldi and Elizabeth and The Catapult at Rockwood Stage 2

Arum Rae Rockwood 4-16

Tonight there are two Now I’ve Heard Everything favorites playing and you can catch both of them.  First up, at the early time of 7pm, is Arum Rae, playing a show at Caffe Vivaldi that was just announced last night.  Arum is a singer and songwriter (she has cowritten material with The Civil WarsJohn Paul White and Steve McEwan of Melody Kills).  I’ve seen Arum play several shows recently and in those shows her songs have run the gamut between indie rock and blues. In any event, Arum will grab your attention.  After moving around for a while. Arum’s has come back to NYC and recently moved to Greenwich Village.

Elizabeth and The Catapult Mercury Lounge 5-18-15

Then head over to The Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 on Allen Street.  There, at 9pm, you’ll find Elizabeth and The Catapult.  You can expect keyboard based idiosyncratic classical tinged pop and songs from the band’s three albums (including Like It Never Happened, one of Now I’ve Heard Everything’s Top Albums of 2014).  You’ll no doubt hear some new stuff too, as Elizabeth is currently working on a new album.  Elizabeth also likes to throw in some inspired covers as well.  Opening the show tonight will be Royal Wood, with whom Elizabeth is currently touring.
