Long time Now I’ve Heard Everything favorite Leslie Mendelson has been out of town recently and as a result, her shows in NYC have been few and far between. But Leslie will play The 11th Street Bar tonight. She’s on her way out of town, so this is the show to catch if you want to see her.
If you haven’t heard or heard of Leslie, she plays piano, guitar, ukelele and sings, has a great pop sensibility, and as Vin Scelsa of WFUV once said, “nobody can write a sweet song like Leslie.” Famed producer Jac Holzman has even compared Leslie to Carol King. Leslie performed Elvis Costello‘s Everyday I Write the Book with Steve Nieve at City Winery, and has played with Bob Weir as well.
