Tonight, just head down to The Rockwood Music Hall on the Lower East Side, where two fine shows are waiting for you. First up, at 10pm, is Arum Rae. Arum is a singer and songwriter (she has cowritten material with The Civil Wars‘ John Paul White and Steve McEwan of Melody Kills). I’ve seen Arum play several shows recently and in those shows her songs have run the gamut between indie rock and blues. In any event, Arum will grab your attention. After moving around for a while. Arum’s has come back to NYC and is celebrating her recent move to Greenwich Village.
Then, at 11:30, next door at The Rockwood Music Hall’s Stage 2, you’ll find tonight’s installment of The After Party (the above photo was taken at a previous installment of the show). The After Party is the latest in a line of shows at The Rockwood in which a large number of musicians who are part of The Rockwood community get together and cover songs. At The After Party, each show is dedicated to songs belonging to a given year. Yes, it’s going to be a late night. But if the time works for you, The After Party will be fun and surprising.
