Native New Yorker Dina Regine is a a photographer, a DJ and a musician. Recently, she released a wonderful record, titled Right On, Alright. That record is full of brand new songs that harken back to mid-60s rock, pop and soul. Those songs are not slavish imitations, but heartfelt rechannelings brought into the present.
Tonight, at 10pm, Dina will bring that music, and some new songs as well, to the subterranean stage at The Bowery Electric. Joining her will be an all star band which includes Tony Scherr, Tony Mason, Jon Cowherd, Brett Bass, Michelle Casillas, Shaky Dave, Sherryl Marshall, plus The Uptown Horns with Arno Hecht and Larry Etkin. Emily Duff and her band will rock you to lead off the evening at 8pm, and Michael Kroll, who is new to me will take the stage at 9pm. Dina will play at 10pm.
