With the Christmas live music lull over, tonight offers you the choice of two established series. Each offers a number of musicians playing short, stripped down sets.
The Radigan Roundup is run by Terry Radigan on Sundays at Park Slope’s 12th Street Bar and Grill. As usually, Terry will play a short set and is joined tonight by Freedy Johnston, Scott Klass from The Davenports, and Dan Miller who plays with They Might Be Giants. At the Roundup, the music is usually stripped down and things are loose and spontaneous. Things will get going tonight at 8pm, but getting to The 12th Street Bar and Grill early for a seat (the place is on the small size) is not a bad idea.
On the last Sunday of the month, Tom Clark, who runs The Treehouse at 2A, turns the programming over to Monica “Li’l Mo” Passin. The result is the series called the Field of Stars, originally held at the late and lamented Banjo Jim’s.
Tonight’s show is billed as The Happy Musical Family Show and will feature Monica “Li’l Mo” Passin, Drina Seay, Emily Duff, Scott Aldrich and Homeboy Steve. Look for the emphasis to be on harmonies. The show starts at 9pm.
