Tonight there are two very worthwhile shows. Both feature many musicians. The first is A September Concert to benefit Friends of Firefighters at Caffe Vivaldi in Greenwich Village. This show will feature Andi Rae Healy, Andy Mac, Bryan Dunn, Chris Michael, Ellia Bisker, Ginger Dolden, Jeff Litman, Jennie Muoio, Jo Kroger, Katherine Eitzel, Lara Ewen, Matthew Brookshire, Meg Massalone, Pete Lanctot, Richard McGraw, Ryan Morgan, Sean Lee, Shaky Dave Pollack, Terry Radigan, Those Sensible Shoes, and more. As the title of the show suggests, this is a benefit show for a great cause, and your donation to Friends of Firefighters in return is fair compensation for all this music. This show gets started at 7pm.
Meanwhile, at 8pm, a bit south and west at City Winery, you’ll find the September edition of Wesley Stace’s Cabinet of Wonders. Joining Wes tonight at his month variety show will be Food Network’s Ted Allen, plus Stacey D’erasmo, Dave Hill, Sally Timms of The Mekons, Dar Williams, Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby, and Ryan Miller. With this cast, there is no possible way you will not have a great time.
