The choices sign is back up. That means there there are two great but different choices in different parts of New York City presented for your consideration.
First up, at 10pm in Williamsburg will be The Demolition String Band. When any band has string band in its name, you expect old-timey country. Well, you are just not going to get that from The Demolition String Band. There’s twang and alt country, but the DSB rocks hard as well. The band is led by front woman Elena Skye and ace guitarist Boo Reiners. Whatever they are playing, your ears will definitely be pleased.
Back on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, you’ll find Rony’s Insomnia on the original stage of The Rockwood Music Hall. Led by Jerusalem-bred, Brooklyn-based Rony Corcos, Rony’s Insomnia plays a bracing brand of psychedelic-tinged rock. This set will start at 11pm and finish up right around midnight.
The Demolition String Band, Skinny Dennis, 152 Metropolitan Avenue at Berry Street (G Train to Metropolitan Avenue or L Train to Bedford Avenue or Lorimer Street), 10pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly recommended)
Rony’s Insomnia, Rockwood Music Hall, 196 Allen Street between Houston and Stanton Streets (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit), 11pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly recommended)
