Tonight: Shadows and Light- Celebrating Joni Mitchell at C’mon Everybody

Shadows Joni Cmon Ebody

There’s a wonderful show over at Clinton Hill’s new venue, C’mon Everybody, tonight.  It’s a night full of songs from Joni Mitchell as performed by a small army of NYC musicians.  Host Maddy Wyatt explains:

As Joni Mitchell, the iconic songstress, poet, and painter, recovers from a recent brain aneurysm in her home in Canada, we are sending a musical get-well card her way from NYC. Artists who have been influenced by her work are coming together to celebrate our lady of the canyon, featuring the seminal album “Blue” in its entirety, and the best of the rest of her incredible canon.

Joining Maddy will be Scott Davis, the musical director for this enterprise, and these musicians: Shaleah Adkisson, Angelica Allen, Phil Pickens, Alfonso Velez, Halle Petro and The Jilt, Akie Bermiss, Starr Busby, Emily Kron, John Brodeur, Bryan Dunn, David Paarlberg, Abby Ahmad, Bridget Barkan, Amy Rivard, Sean Cronin, Molly Mastrangelo, Jeff Litman, Julian Fleischer, Dillon Kondor, and, of course, more.  Things get started at C’mon Everybody at 8pm.

Shadows and Light, Celebrating Joni Mitchell, C’mon Everybody, 325 Franklin Avenue between Clifton Place and Greene Avenue (G Train to Classon Avenue), 8pm, $12
