Tonight: North of Amarillo at Skinny Dennis or The Balladeers at 11th Street Bar

Choices Large

Here are two shows, both with the starting time of 9pm.  One’s in Williamsburg, the other is on the Lower East Side.

North of Amarillo, a band with Now I’ve Heard Everything favorite Kelli Scarr on lead vocals, will play  Skinny Dennis in Williamsburg tonight starting at 9pm.  Inspired by the music of Emmylou Harris, North of Amarillo pays tribute to her classic songs and arrangements along with a mix of originals and other country favorites. In addition to Kelli, NOA features Luca Benedetti and Jason Loughlin on Telecaster Guitars, Jonny Lam on Pedal Steel Guitar, Scott Colberg on Bass and Arthur Vint on drums.

On the Lower East Side, The Balladeers – Ana Egge, John Kengla and Rob Heath – will play at The 11th Street Bar.  The last time this group was around, it was billed as Ana Egge and The Ohiomen.  Whatever the billing, you can expect to hear Ana’s original songs in a set of Americana roots rock.

North of Amarillo, Skinny Dennis, 152 Metropolitan Avenue at Berry Street (G to Metropolitan Avenue, L to Bedford Avenue or Lorimer Street), No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly recommended), 9pm

The Balladeers (Ana Egge, John Kengla, Rob Heath), 11th Street Bar, 510 E. 11th Street between Avenues A & B (any train to 14th Street, F Train to Delancey Street or L Train to 1st Avenue, then transfer to the 14 A bus to 11th Street), 9pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly recommended)
