Long time readers of Now I’ve Heard Everything are already familiar with South by Southwest (usually written SXSW) is a music (and movie and web) conference and festival which is held in Austin, Texas every year in mid-March. 2016 will be no exception and SXSW (the music part of it anyway) will begin on Tuesday, March 15th and continue through Sunday, March 20nd.
SXSW is a music lovers dream with around 2500 bands playing in 100 clubs over five nights. There are also unofficial shows each day and night, which means the total number of bands one can see during SXSW is really around 3000. All of which adds up to continuous music for the better part of a week.
Even though March is a long time off from mid-July, SXSW 2016 has announced its go live date for attendee registration: August 3rd. The reason to register early is to get your SXSW 2016 badge at the lowest possible rate and reserve a room in your preferred hotel. Registration for musicians who would like to play SXSW is now open and remain open only through September 11th.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, Now I’ve Heard Everything will again be covering SXSW 2016.
