Yeah, I know. Not only is this a school night, but the F Train is only running into the Lower East Side going uptown and not downtown. Still, the comfortable, homey Treehouse at 2A (that’s the second floor at 2A) is the place to head to tonight. Courtney Lee Adams Jr. will play there at 10pm. Courtney will be playing with her full band (Tommy Detox DeVito, Tom Shad, Buford O’Sullivan, Richard Feridun and Mickey Finn).
Courtney’s songs are world weary and wise. I think that the music of Tom Waits might be a good comparison. But Courtney is less jarring and more tuneful than Tom. Since Courtney doesn’t play all that much, take this opportunity to see her.
Courtney Lee Adams Jr., Treehouse at 2A, 25 Avenue A between Houston and 2nd Streets (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit, F Train to Delancey Street or J Train to Essex Street – note that the F Train is only running uptown into the Lower East Side), 10pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly encouraged)
