Now I’ve Heard Everything reported earlier this year about the then impending closing, and the subsequent rescue of Bushwick’s Goodbye Blue Monday. Although that venue made it past the spring, it did not make it past November, finally closing this past weekend.
Meanwhile, over in Williamsburg, Spike Hill, which was scheduled to close this weekend, has gotten a one week reprieve. There are a few more shows there this coming week, with what is billed as the final show at Spike Hill taking place on Saturday, December 13th.
A few blocks south, The newest incarnation of The Living Room is up and running, even if its official opening has not yet occurred. The club’s liquor license has been in place since late October, and improvements in the space continue. One club goer has noted that the chairs newly arrived in The Living Room’s performance area are extremely comfortable.
