Tonight: Four Shows

Choices Large

Tonight, there are four shows which offer a bit of something for everyone.  Over in East Williamsburg at Don Pedro, The Artist Formally Known As Vince Band come into town, playing a combination of rock and punk.  They will hit the stage at 8pm.

At that same time over in Park Slope, The Karyn Kuhl Band will play The Rock Shop, bringing their garage-based rock to Brooklyn.  Karyn usually sticks to playing close to home in Hoboken, so take this opportunity to see this wonderfully bracing band.

Also at 8pm, Adam Bernstein will play Brooklyn, this time at Pete’s Candy Store in Williamsburg.  Adam plays tuneful songs with 60s pop influences.

Finally, later on the Lower East Side, Fife & Drom will bring their blues-based music to their home base, The Rockwood Music Hall, this time on Stage 2.

The Artist Formally Known As Vince Band, Don Pedro, 90 Manhattan Avenue between Boreum and McKibbin Streets (J or M Trains to Lorimer Street), 8pm

Karyn Kuhl Band,  The Rock Shop, 249 4th Avenue (Brooklyn) between Carroll and President Streets (R Train to Union Street), 8pm, $10

Adam Bernstein, Pete’s Candy Store, 709 Lorimer Street, Williamsburg (G Train to Metropolitan Avenue or L Train to Lorimer Street), 8pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly encouraged)

Fife & Drom, Rockwood Stage 2, 196 Allen Street between Houston and Stanton Streets (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit), 10:15pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians band is highly recommended)

One Response to Tonight: Four Shows

  1. The headliner for the Rock Shop show is Jane Lee Hooker (who I’m not familiar with). But the reason I may go is to see The Bluebonnets, an all-female rock band from Austin that features Kathy Valentine, formerly of the Go-Go’s. If you happen to be going to that show, let me know & I’ll look for or try to connect with you.
