Tonight : Dear Georgiana at Cameo or Lizzie and The Sinners at The Treehouse at 2A

Choices Large

Here are two good shows; unfortunately they conflict, so you’ll  need to choose one or the other.

At 9pm, Dear Georgiana will be starting their set at Cameo (to get to the music room there, go through the bar/restaurant and open the unmarked door in the back).  Call their music atmospheric folk-rock that’s melodic with very nice vocals.  Dear Georgiana is led by Lauren Balthrop, who also plays in Elizabeth and The Catapult.  Elizabeth Ziman frequently joins Dear Georgiana as well, and will likely be part of the band tonight.

Over at Tom Clark’s cozy, intimate Treehouse at 2A, a group just formed this summer, Lizzie and The Sinners, will play at 10pm.  L&TS is a gospel group made up of Lizzie Edwards on vocals, Tom Shad on bass, Jahn Xavier on guitar and vocals, Charles Roth on keys, James Winwood on lap steel, Chris Schultz on drums and Sarah Wise & Erica Mackenzie-Smith on backing vocals.  They are new to me but I’ve heard good things about them.

Dear Georgiana, Cameo, 93 North 6th Street between Wythe Avenue and Berry Street (L Train to Bedford Avenue or G Train to Metropolitan Avenue), 9pm, $8

Lizzie and The Sinners, Treehouse at 2A, 25 Avenue A at 2nd Street (F Train to Delancey Street or 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit or J Train to Essex Street), 8:30pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly encouraged)
