News and Notes: Americanafest and The Dream Syndicate Will Return to NYC

Americana_Music_Association_logoLast week, The Americana Music Association and Lincoln Center Out of Doors joined forces to present Americanafest, a weeks worth of shows including the wonderful outdoor concerts from Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale and Rosanne Cash.  Rosanne is now reporting that “the festival received such a rapturous response that I can safely say it will become an annual event.”

Dream Syndicate Tell Me When

Steve Wynn‘s first band was The Dream Syndicate.  That band broke up in 1989.  But two years ago Steve put The Dream Syndicate back together.  It now consists of Steve on guitar and vocals, Dennis Duck on drums, Mark Walton on bass and recent addition Jason Victor (who plays with Steve Wynn and The Miracle 3) on lead guitar.  The Dream Syndicate will finally play New York City for the first time in decades on November 15th at Rough Trade in Williamsburg.
