This summer Sunday night is not sleepy at all. There are two good shows tonight and they time out so that you can see both of them.
The first show is an early one, at The Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2. There at 7pm, Elizabeth and The Catapult will play. You can expect keyboard based idiosyncratic classical tinged pop and songs from the this year’s Elizabeth and The Catapult album, Like It Never Happened, as well as Elizabeth’s earlier songs. You may also hear a cover or two and whatever else Elizabeth has up her sleeve.
Once Elizabeth and the band finish, go north to 11th Street. You’ll find the 11th Street Bar just east of Avenue A. Laura Cantrell will be playing a set with Mark Spencer. Laura has two big shows coming up this week, opening for Camera Obscura. But you can see her tonight in a much more intimate setting.
Elizabeth and The Catapult, Rockwood Stage 2, 196 Allen Street between Houston and Stanton Streets (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit), 7pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly recommended)
