News and Notes: Rodeo Bar Reportedly Closing (Updated)

Rodeo Bar

Over the past several days, I’ve heard from several sources in the New York City music community that The Rodeo Bar, the Texas-themed bar, restaurant and honky tonk located on 27th Street and Third Avenue will be closing.  I have not confirmed this, but the sources are credible.  Lending some weight to these reports is the fact the Rodeo Bar’s music calendar for August is blank.

If anyone out there has more information about the future of The Rodeo Bar, I would like to hear it.  You may leave a comment below.  If you’d like to contact Now I’ve Heard Everything privately, please use the contact page.  If I hear anything more definitive, I will update this post.

Update: What I can confirm is that the live music programing at The Rodeo Bar is what is coming to an end as of July 31.  So far as I understand, that’s all that’s closing.
