If you’ve seen a live show or two in New York City over the past several years, chances are that you seen Rich Hinman. Rich is a member of the too long on hiatus Madison Square Gardeners and has played guitar with many other musicians. You might not know all of them, but you’ve probably heard of Rosanne Cash and Sarah Bareilles.
Tonight, Rich steps out of the shadows and on to center stage. His 8pm show at The Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 is the CD release show for Glacier, a record Rich started last year and finally finished just last month. Joining Rich tonight will be Grey McMurray on guitar, Chris Morrissey on bass and Dan Rieser on drums.
Since Rich will be on tour with Sarah Bareilles most of this summer, this will be the last show of his own material for a while. So why not finish up the weekend by checking out Rich and picking up a copy of Glacier? It’s an early show, so the fact that tomorrow will be work or school should not be an issue.
Rich Hinman, Rockwood Stage 2, 196 Allen Street between Houston and Stanton Streets (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit), 8pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly recommended)
