Tonight: If You Do Want to Venture Out of Your Air Conditioned Place, There Are Shows to See

It’s just too hot to do much of anything, which is part of the reason I’m getting a late start today.  But if you decide to venture out tonight , there are four good shows you can choose from.  Most importantly, all are indoors and air conditioned.

Allison Weiss, The Studio at Webster Hall, 125 East 11th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues (4,5,or 6 Train to 14th Street, L Train to 3rd Avenue or 14 A or 14D bus to 3rd Avenue), 8pm $10

Basement Band, The Living Room, 154 Ludlow Street between Stanton and Rivington Streets (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit), 9pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly encouraged)

Li’l Mo and The Monicats, Googie’s Lounge (upstairs at The Living Room), 154 Ludlow Street between Stanton and Rivington Streets (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit), 9:30pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly encouraged)

Demolition String Band, Rodeo Bar, 11pm, 375 Third Avenue at 28th Street (R or 6 Train to 28th Street), 10pm, No Cover (but a contribution for the musicians is highly encouraged)
