Next Up I: Rosanne Cash is currently on tour to promote her just issued book, Composed. But she’s already lined up her next music project. She described it this way: “I think I’m going to do is this trio project with Joe Henry and Billy Bragg. We’re supposed to get together in November to start this. We’re all three starting writing songs for that, and I’m really excited about doing that.”
Next Up II: Ted Leo has a very long essay on his website titled “Majorly Massive Career Trajectory News! You Might Say, ‘Paradigm Shift,’ Even!!” which announces that he’s worked on a musical film project of some sort which will be announced tomorrow. Check Ted’s website for a link to a clip or perhaps more then.
Paste Magazine posts some interesting music and film related lists from time to time. Recently they posted a list (complete with videos!) of the 50 Best Fictional Bands. Although Spinal Tap is not #1 (they wuz robbed as the saying goes) it’s quite amusing, and of course there are video clips to go with most of those fictional bands. Click here for that list.
